Insomnia is a condition
of a person being sleepless or having poor sleeping habits. Beckerman (n.d)
describes the lack of sleep as a condition that has rampant effects to the life
of the affected person. Lack of sleep makes one foggy and grumpy and that one
cannot know what effects the lack of sleep can have to sex life, the health of
a person, looks, weight and overall appearance of a person. It is by my consent
that lack of sleep has an impact on the health of a person. It confers a person
to poor health status. Indeed, sleep deprivation leads to many serious health
problems. It is characterized that the insomnia disorder renders an individual
to risks of several diseases that relate to the heart and some other rampant
effects.
The most heart-related
diseases caused by the insomnia disorder includes the heart disease, heart
attack, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure. Other
associated diseases to the disorder include the stroke and diabetes.
Insufficient sleep affects the health of old persons as it increases the risk
of cardiovascular diseases, weight problems and women are at high risk of being
affected with breast cancer.
Having mentioned that
insomnia is a contributor to the poor health, it is also the same that poor
health of an individual causes insomnia disorder in an individual. Many health
conditions are contributors to the disorder, and they include the frequent
urinating, asthma, arthritis, diabetes, nighttime heartburn, osteoporosis,
menopause and the Alzheimer’s condition. Therefore, insomnia is a disorder that
leads to health problems at the same time poor health conditions are causes of
insomnia disorder. It is a bidirectional state.
