Plan
The
orientation iteration is meant for introduction in Tech Flex Company as an
intern as a DevOps Engineer. During the first week, I shall have an appointment
with the human resource officer. The required tasks include a meeting with
stakeholders to open an introduction dialogue as well as the working policies.
The intern shall be required to understand company environment as well as the
structure of the organization. Introduction meeting shall include seminars
involving to learn about ethical issues and standards that apply to the company
while working as an intern in DevOps Engineering. The various working schedules
involved shall include being familiar with all communication systems. The
facilitator during the first week meetings and seminars shall be Miss Lydia,
the human resource officer in Tech Flex Company. The orientation process shall
cover the core principles of the DevOps engineering methodologies through
examining a number engineering techniques applied in automating small,
medium-sized business, and enterprises using DevOps Engineering techniques
(Zhu, et al., 2015).
The
second week shall involve training session that shall equip interns with
duties, roles, responsibilities and functions of DevOps Engineer. Interns shall
acquire general knowledge, skills, and experience in guiding the organization
on how to implement DevOps Engineering systems in the organization (K. G. Lydia,
personal, Communication, January 03, 2017). Training process shall include
working, controlling, and managing, business enterprises using Enterprise
Systems Management (ESM) using DevOps techniques in Tech Flex Company. The session shall also utilize significance
of workshop practicals on how to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain
ESM support applications on cloud, and other big data support systems (Adams,
Bellomo, Bird, Marshall-Keim, Khomh, & Moir, 2015).
Action
I
booked an appointment with Miss. Lydia, human resource officer in Tech Flex
Company. She guided me through oral dialogues that involved Mr. Grant I was
enrolled in an intern plan to work as DevOps culture engineer as well as
designing the basic application in the ESM. Through the intervention of Mr.
Grant, I was introduced to company structure of organization whereby I meet
organization workers such as DevOps departmental heads. Tech Flex Company is
divided into different units to facilitate the division of labor, divide and
longer as well as specialization (K. G. Lydia, personal, Communication, January
05, 2017). The meeting session introduced the industrial standards, code of
ethics, as well as etiquettes involved in working and with ESM and the
implementation of DevOps engineering. The meeting session covered an
introduction to various technologies in DevOps Engineering.
Through
training session implemented by Mr. Grant, I was capable of understanding
duties as a DevOps engineer which includes integrating business subprograms
together. Tasks covered during workshop training involved automating business
processes through combining programs using DevOps engineering techniques. Among
the management systems integrated with ESM included; Human resource management
systems that controlled and managed employees salaries and farewells. Other
DevOps tasks included developing customized inventory control systems to manage
products as well as productions units in Tech Flex Company. The DevOps
engineering techniques applied in production unit brought standardization of
produced goods and services (K. B. Grant, personal, Communication, January 07,
2017). Mr. Grant demonstrated engineering criteria applied in developing retail
and wholesale ESM through the application of Systems Development Life Cycle
Model (Ficco, Avolio, Palmieri, & Castiglione, 2016). Through the workshop
practical sessions, I was able to develop create applications that link banking
and insurance partners.
Observation
The
session on orientation in Tech Flex Company has clearly demonstrated on the use
and implementation the most common DevOps techniques within Enterprise Systems
Management. I have observed that organizations, as well as most industries, can
develop and implement multiple payment systems that are acceptable worldwide
using DevOps engineering techniques. Different forms such as applications,
processes, transactions, as well as departments can easily share DevOps
engineering resources by configuring sharing options (Fagerholm, Sanchez,
Borenstein, & Munch, 2014)). I have observed that DevOps engineering
techniques can be applied in developing business accounting software, budgeting
and financing systems that can embed in organization systems.
I
observed that Tech Flex Company had implemented DevOps engineering in ensuring
that serious problems such as communication are effectively and efficiently
solved through engineering databases for sharing data and information within
the organization as well as other third party members. Through DevOps engineering on company management
systems such as ESM, the organization can easily eliminate various issues
involved with human minor calculation errors, calculation mistakes and finally
problems associated with the inaccurate entry of data (K. G. Lydia, personal,
Communication, January 11, 2016). Session facilitated by Mr. Grant had
high-level information regarding DevOps engineering projects such as designing
systems for formalizing processed data and information through analytical
engineering principles like accurate testing. The session covered techniques
for engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPI). I observed that DevOps
engineering tasks require evaluations of business requirements; systems
requirements as well as users and employees specifications to provide quality
highly demanded systems that satisfy consumers. Ethical principles applied
include quality assurance procedures, without compromising hardware and
software compatibility issues (K. B. Grant, personal, Communication, January
15, 2017).
Reflection
Through
collaborating with Miss. Lydia and Mr. Grant the orientation iteration went
well. The session involving introduction meetings and seminars, I have acquired
knowledge, skills, and experience regarding DevOps engineering as the
technology that brings about changes in organization operations. The training
activities revealed the significance of DevOps engineering in automation of
Tech Flex Company activities through implementation of new techniques and
development of business applications using DevOps engineering. Among the
systems that shall be developed and integrated into the business, operstions
include artificial intelligence (AI), Inventory Systems, Decision support
systems (DSS) as well as human support management systems such as customer
management systems (Tsigkanos, Kehrer, & Ghezzi, 2016). Proposed
improvements using DevOps engineering technology shall make organization meet
the qualification of maintaining high-quality products and services (Rahman,
& Rigby, 2015).
DevOps
engineering techniques that were well covered during orientation process
included designing, developing, setting, and configuring auditing systems.
Other activities included troubleshooting, and monitoring systems
irregularities including the vulnerability of systems as well as performing penetration
testing on internet based systems such as Telnet, Intranet, Extranet, and
Mobinet (Schmidt, Sadre, & Hendriks, 2016). Future operations shall involve
the development of monitoring and control DevOps support systems for
surveillance. Among the system targeted in research include DevOps engineering
of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), as well as Closed Circuit Television
(CCTV) (K. B. Grant, personal, Communication, March 19, 2016). Among the
operations that never went well includes delayed learning on Designing,
implementations, and installations of DevOps engineering and deployment
applications. There were also shortages of inquiring experts since most of Tech
Flex Company professionals were busy coordinating other activities. However,
the future iterations shall guarantee enough resources are available for smooth
training and working.
