Question one
When interviewing a management
candidate, I would consider a good answer as one where the candidate is
expressing their management skills in the area of expertise. A good manager
should demonstrate that they have the skills necessary for the management position.
In my understanding, a good manager should be good in managing people and
ensure that they have staff committed to them. During the interview, a good
answer from the candidate will be one that demonstrates the ability of the
manager to lead his followers by example and also demonstrate how he can solve
problems or conflict when they arise. A positive outcome from the future
behavior is that the manager will be able to motivate employees to work hard. A
bad answer that the candidate can provide is showing authority over others and
not considering the input of his followers when making a decision. I may
consider this a bad answer because, so as to have a good working relation, a
manager should ensure that they consider the opinions and ideas of his staff.
The negative outcome of the future behavior of the manager can be a lack of
cooperation by employees that will result in a decrease in productivity.
Question seven
A good management behavior that I
experienced in a company was that the manager ensured that there was open
communication. Communication is essential when working with employees and it
can lead to increased performance, profits, and also customer satisfaction. The
manager always ensured that employees were free to communicate any of their problems
or any opinions that they had. With open communication, employees in the
organization felt comfortable to express their honest and open feedback to
coworkers and also the organizational leadership. Because employees could
communicate freely, it allowed them to engage and understand they do matter in
the success of the organization. a poor communication tends to create havoc
which is likely to lead to higher turnover and poor customer service, which
likely to lead to decreased sales and profit. The good management of the
company also saw the management communicating their goals and expectations and
also those of the organization. Thus, talking with employees about their
expectations helped in enhancing employee engagement and also the personal
accountability in achieving success.
Question three
My personal experience of planning
happened when I was responsible for leading a group in completing a particular
project. As the project leader, my responsibility included preparing a schedule
on how to complete the project and also assigning tasks to the members. I
ensured that I planned the project well so as to ensure that every member
received an assignment that they qualified to complete and also allocated
sufficient time for completing the project. Since I had other school
assignments to complete, I made sure that I planned my work well so that to be
able to complete other assignments within the required time. I managed to
foresee the completion of the project, and I never had problems in completing
my other duties. Something that can make planning effective in the future
involves all the personnel. So that the planning can be successful, it is
essential to ensure that you involve all the relevant people. In this way, it
helps in creating a commitment to the plan and also its implementation.
